Welcome to the Website of the Damascus Hash House Harriers
The Damascus Hash is a family oriented hash group to which all are
welcome. It runs on Friday afternoons during winter and Friday evenings
during summer.
Runs are generally in the countryside, 30 to 60 minutes drive from
central Damascus and there is generally both a runners trail and a
walkers trail. The trails are usually around one hour in
length/duration.
Hashers meet in the car park in front of the Al Jalaa Hotel on the
Autostrada in the Mezzeh, Damascus and leave from there for the run
site. Those with their own transport and know the location of the run
site can travel directly to the start of the run if they wish. However,
it is recommended to meet at the Al Jalaa from where cars travel in
convoy to the run site. Those without their own transport can get a
ride to and from the run site from the meeting point at the Al Jalaa
Hotel.
The meeting time at the Al Jalaa Hotel is 12:15pm for a 12:30pm
departure during winter and 3:45pm for a 4:00pm departure during
summer. Note that departure at these times is usually prompt to allow
sufficient time to travel to the run site.

'Hash Cash' is collected before the run and this covers beer and a
snack after the run, plus a contribution towards hash funds to cover
awards, e.g. 25 runs t-shirts, and part of the cost of special
events. Soft drinks are also available but please bring your own water.
'Hash Cash' is SYP500 for individuals and SYP1000 for families.
Please note that family means two parents and their children under
12 years old. Older children and any uncles, aunts, cousins,
maids, etc., are not included and must pay as individuals.
