Hasher!
Hash Trash for Run No. 1294 - 6 May 2005
The hash last Friday took us to a virgin
location, discovered by Little John and Big Sally.
We
were just meters away from our destination, when suddenly the convoy leader made
a drastic U-turn, confusing everyone, and taking half the convoy back to
Damascus, while the other half was too perplexed to move, and just stayed put.
Fifteen minutes later, the first convoy half rejoined the second convoy half,
and the whole crew continued on the road we had already been following. Two
minutes later we arrived at our site, where our Religious Advisor harshly told
us off for being a technical nit-wits
as the directions he provided for us
were crystal clear.
The
site was great for both walkers and runners alike, as it was not too steep. The
view all around was magnificent, and perfect for the
BBQ.
There
was the usual variety of international dishes & meats – lamb, chicken, hot
dogs, fish, tabouleh, home-made bread, wine, and much, much more
.
As everyone settled down to enjoy their culinary treats, toasts were exchanged “Nasdaroviye” (russian), “Slonjava” (gaelic) ChukSunKwa” (vietnamese) “Skol” (norwegian), “Sahten” (arabic), “Sante” (french), “Proost” (dutch), “Nasdraviy” (czech), “Tervisex” (estonian) . . .
At
about 5 pm, the convoy of 15+ vehicles started, one by one, heading back to
El-Sham, where everyone presumably resumed their hectic lives, after a very
pleasant day away from the hustle and bustle of the big
city.
For
this Friday’s Hash – Friday the 13th
!!! – our hare will be Arthur, who will set
a trail in Halboun, see directions
below.
Meet
to greet at the car park of the Al-Jalaa Hotel as of 12 pm, leaving sharply in
convoy at 12.30 pm.
Bring your BBQ meat, cutlery and plates. Beer will be provided by Don/Rafi & Co.
