Hash Trash for Run No. 1298 - 3 June 2005

Last
week’s hash took us to the magnificent surroundings of Lake Zarzar. Our hares
laid a challenging trail for the runners, which they nevertheless enjoyed very
much. The walkers seemed to be stealing more fruit from the local
orchards 
, than walking, which
they too enjoyed very much.
After the run/walk we headed back to Damascus, where we were invited by
the marines for the down-downs, food and drink at their exclusive club. Although
there were ‘only’ about 50 people
on the hash, there was enough food for 150 people. Rafi & Co. brought
sandwiches, Omar Sharif brought kilos of delicious kebabs which he put on the
bbq at the marine club, then Laurie added more kilos of juicy marinated steaks.
We had homemade cake, fresh strawberries and a real live bar to order
drinks 
.
There was line dancing, pool, and lots of eating, drinking and talking. Abel was bombarded with questions about Cain, and there were jokes about horses, bears and pitbulls in bars.
By midnight everyone had left, but not before getting a quick lesson in navigation by astronomy, so that we wouldn’t get lost on the way back home.

Meet to greet at the car park of the Al-Jalaa hotel at 3:30 pm, leaving promptly and in convoy at 4 pm.
