Hash Trash for Run No. 1315 - 23 September 2005

The Hares Paul and Arthur took us to a well worn but still pleasant hash site at Barada Springs - left. Don´t know where and how the previous run was; I was not present, being unfaithful to Hash with Shell, who organized that night a Moon walk, starting at Bagdad café. Thankfully, I was not given a down down for that, though our Religious Adviser was back with us, despite his injuries, and there were not so many down downs this time: the hares got one as usual among shouts of "not enough dust", "too short" "too long" (take your pick), but on the whole satisfactory. There were, however, many virgins, mostly very young, in fact barely out of their nappies, at least from my perspective. On the other hand, there were not nearly enough cars and it was a squeeze on the way back, hopefully pleasurable, as yours truly took a short cut to Jaafour.

The most notable down down was a sad one - the Hashers´ way to say good bye to Marijn and Michiel and to their two valiant baby daughters. The family was an almost permanent fixture on all the runs for the past years - Marijn practically gave birth to her second daughter on the Hash - and terrific organizers. We wish them happy hashing and all the best in the Philippines, and expect them to drop by occasionally, as Michiel was very reluctant to accept the parting gift of a T-shirt with LAST DAMASCUS HASH written on it in mournful black letters. Those who happened to drop in at the Latino night in the Shell club, were able to say their good byes on a more cheerful note and to dislocate their hips dancing a wild twist with Michiel. (Will the Shell insurance pay for the operation, I´d like to know...)

On on, Blanka
