Hash Trash for Run No. 1399 - 13April 2007

Fantastic sunny weather, as I can testify by the sunburn on the back of my neck. Out by Lake Zar Zar again. The start of the hash was delayed somewhat by technical problems - a car break down on the way resulted in hare Ryan doing his good deed for the day and rescuing the damsels in distress who were left by the roadside. Great turn out too - 13 runners and at least 15 walkers.

The more observant among you will have realised that I was not actually there - looks like a good thing too -

It was as befits a White Trashed trail very long and very mountainous, in fact there seemed to be more uphill than downhill - so at last White Trashed has achieved his life long ambition and also defied the combined forces of physics and logic.

It was the usual bright sunny day - at 36,000 feet above the clouds in a plane where I was. For the rest of you the weather was cold, made worse by being on top of a mountain. The farmers were able to celebrate - though no one else did: when we arrived it started to rain which very quickly turned to hail. Bikini weather returned in time to lull the pack into a false sense of security and start the run, but the downpour started again 3/4 way around. By the time we had finished it was wetter than a scuba diver's underpants. Paul had just finished building his fire but it would have needed a flamethrower to keep it going. What do you expect for Friday 13th.

The by now quite soggy pack adjourned to the Talfita Valley in search of drier and warmer weather; however the curse of Friday the 13th struck again. What had seemed an easy road at the start of the run had by now turned to a swamp in which five cars got stuck, so it was all hands to pushing. By the time the cars had been rescued, the hashers and the landscape were covered in mud. I will be on the lookout for an improvement in your complexions after this beauty treatment - though some of you are beyond help.

Then to make matters worse, Julian arrived back on the scene (well that generally does make matters worse...). Despite his big 4 wheel drive he was not there to help with the rescue but because Raghad had lost her mobile phone. Like the gentleman he is he insisted on going back, in the rain, around the walker's trail to find the mobile but to no avail. In the meantime everyone else waited in the cars for them. By some miracle the rain stopped so we had the down downs by the roadside.

Virgins: Rick & Monica, Dana (all from the US) - will they return after this episode? We will have to wait and see.... Crimes: Guido for not walking far enough away for his pre run pee (yuck - glad I was not there). Ryan for telling on him (which nursery school do these people attend?). Gert for having sex before the Hash (where does he get the energy?). Julian for saying that the run was the smoothest he had run on for a long time. He got that for complaining although he said it was a compliment. Yvonne for deserting her husband and dog and her husband (again?) Horst for deserting the runners and going with the walkers. Ryan (again) for falsely accusing the hare of setting the trail by car. Raghad and her daughter Diala for losing the mobile and finally the owners of the cars that were stuck in the mud for being stick-in-the-muds.
