Hash Trash for Run No. 1425 - 5 October 2007

Back to the earlier time, with a 12:30 departure from the Al Jallaa.  Paul set the trail near Saidnaya, but this week he found a new place - great scenery and "interesting" running.  This week's hash can best be described by the old English nursery rhyme:

"oh the grand old duke of York, he had ten thousand men

he marched them up to the top of the hill and he marched them down again"

Yes, hills; steep, slippery and plenty of them.  We have had to bribe Paul not to tell Arthur where the site is, otherwise we will end up there every week!  Of course, it wouldn't be a Paul trail without plenty of misdirection, though sending the pack in exactly the opposite direction at the first On On was a bit unfair.  We later realised that this would be the only bit of running we would get (apart from another bit at the end).  There were some unexpected moments on the trail, however - first the use of paint; Paul claims he used TWO WHOLE BOTTLES, which is 1.99 more than he normally uses.  Also one of the false trails was actually marked - those of us that headed for the first shout of "on 1" were completely fooled, but not as much as Gert and Guido who went on running even after passing the "X"!  previously Guido had also missed the correct trail, turning back too soon - he got away with that one, though.

With Gabrielle acting as (dis)honorary RA there were down downs a-plenty: Paul and Sausan, of course, three newcomers (Sima, Nima and Chima, or something like that - Gabrielle, next time please write the names down!), multifarious sinners - Gert for (as usual) sex on the hash and again for missing the false trail - where does he get his viagra?, Paul for being out of character in laying the trail and trying to copy Arthur in the size of his ....hills, Guido and Tamara for being negligent parents, me and Sara for talking more than the RA (difficult, I admit, but we managed it between us), Rafi for blowing his horn on a false trail (lucky he wasn't blowing someone else's, I say).

Next week's hash: depart from Al Jallaa at 12:30.  We need a hare, so please let Paul know if you can do it.

Dont forget Kasab Hash - weekend of 2-3 November.  Details from Rafi or on the website.
