It was a sunny
and crisp day as a good crowd of hashers met up at the Al Jallaa. And
crisp was what a certain part of my anatomy felt after a run that was
definitely chilly. I had to check for frostbite when i got home. The
moral of the story? Wear thermal underwear!
No idea where Greg
set the run but the area was very beautiful. Arthur's evil influence
seemed to have rubbed off on Greg, however, since I swear that there
was more up hill than downhill on this run. The trail was well laid
with lots of paint (though that didn't stop Charles from getting
lost...) apart from the hold check that Paul decided to erase for not
being aesthetically pleasing enough. No dead dogs (or dead giraffes)
this week but quite a few live ones, including two hash dogs that
seemed to see each other as rivals. Plenty of black sheep, though (and
I don't mean Paul & Rafi).
The return of Arthur (yes, it
sounds like a movie title) meant we were regaled/frozen with the
anniversaries from Wikipedia - nothing much happened on this day
throughout history unless you happen to be a Byzantine emperor, in
which case you probably died. he also mentioned the new "self-tuning"
guitar from Gibson - personally I am waiting for eth "self-playing" one
(and so are my neighbours). So, to the down downs: Greg and Paul (for
the walkers) as hares, virgins Alexandra, Andriana, Haru, Anta, Cisa
and Mohamad and returnees Arthur, Charles, Nigel and your humble scribe
(even though I only missed 1 week). Greg also got his T shirt for
setting 5 runs - congratulations.
Punishments aplenty this week
- Charles for being an FRB and getting lost (he was so fast he overtook
Greg setting the trail the day before....or maybe not); Paul and
Shirley for sex on the hash - Arthur had his spies among the walkers;
Paul for rubbing....out the last hold check; Sam for arriving late
then, after keeping the rest of us waiting, having a conversation with
anyone who would listen; Rafi for striking out on his own to explore
instead of keeping to the trail; your humble scribe (again) getting
this week's Guido Award for always finding the false trails - it's a
tough job but someone has to do it; Sam again, for going on the walk
once he saw all the pretty girls.
Arthur will set the trail
next week so bring your crampons (that's mountain climbing equipment,
not an item of feminine hygiene).
12:30 at the Al Jallaa.
