Spring
is here... warm and sunny, soon to become hot and sunny no doubt, then BOILING
HOT and sunny over the coming weeks.
Another
Paul trail near Saidnaya - his trails are like London
buses. You spend ages looking for the paint then you get 3 in a
row! One hold check - I've heard of saving paint but this is too
much (or too little). A nice, scenic (if a little short, perhaps) trail -
at the end you had to be psychic to find the on inn, though, since it was
nowhere near the trail that had been laid. A bit of possibly competitive
running on the last downhill bit (guilty, m'lud, but I'm suffering for it
today). There were various other parts with unmarked turns and false
trails - Paul gives you both intellectual and physical exercise at the
same time.
In
Arthur's absence Gabrielle stood in as RA (or perhaps
obergruppenleutnantfuhrer). As usual, she made sure that everyone had at
least 3 down downs - I could see Paul and Rafi almost in tears at the effect on
the Hash bank balance. So here's the long list:
- Paul & Sausan
(hares for the runners & walkers)
- No virgins, but
returners Miguel (on his 6 monthly hash), Richard (lost & found) and
Richard (WTB, ie me)
- Sex on the hash
Ibrahim & Esther (when asked most of the male hashers voluntered for
sex on the hash next week if a suitable partner could be provided)
- Short cutting: Red
Hot, Lost & Found, Saed and Manar
- Fashion victim: Manar
for not wearing his hash T shirt
- For not "toeing
the line": Lost & found
There
then followed a "fashion show" where the male hashers were forced to
expose their stomachs for measurement. Apparently this public humiliation
was supposed to encourage some sort of dieting behaviour - and to start off the
diet all were given a down down of beer - go figure. Your humble scribe
suggested that in order to make it fair we should then measure the ladies'
chests to see if they will get any bigger over the coming weeks (I also
volunteered to do the measuring) but received a down down instead - sometimes
life is unfair.
RA
forgot to ask about hares for next week so please contact Paul if you want to
do it. I would be happy to partner up with someone who has a car...
Gabrielle
also asked if we could make efforts to bring friends along.
SPECIAL
ANNOUNCEMENT: there is a jazz concert at Dummar
Church on the evening of Thursday 27th
March, with the Russian Jazz band "North Project", with Elena from
Scallywag on vocals. Tickets are available on the door for SYP 1,000 and
the price includes snacks and possibly even a drink (don't quote me on that one
though). The band are all professional music teachers from St Petersburg and they sounded great when they
were here last year so check it out.
